DESTINATION ARTISTREE AND VINS
![]() ArtisTree Community Arts Center has a new home in a beautifully renovated barn in Pomfret, at 2095 Pomfret Road.
At Trek to Taste, Trek participants will have the opportunity to create their own unique work of art with Artistree - hiking bandanas, with many creative decorating options (including stencils and vegetable stamps!). ![]() The trail to this destination hub is an easy 1 mile round-trip loop leading trekkers from the Forest Center up the Mountain Road carriage trail to emerge into a meadow called the Horse Shed Pasture. Hikers can head back to the Forest Center or continue through the woods to hook into other hubs with tastings and activities. Options include hikes to the Nordic Ski Cabin, the Pogue junction and South Peak. These sites will feature many ‘Taste-y’ rewards and fun activities for your trek!
The ArtisTree craft destination hands-on activity station where you can decorate your own hiking bandanna is open until 3 p.m. on the day of the event. The stellar nature center Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) will also be located at this hub. VINS will be there with a raptor and share information about our exciting birds of prey.
